First Physio

I left the physio department sometime last year, and now I'm back. This first visit involved measuring ROM. Then a straightening procedure on the knee, which hurt a lot. Followed by axial and lateral resistance leg exercise using the softest band (yellow), 60 times of 5sec duration. Finally ice treatment to reduce the swelling, using a cryo-pack. The pack looks like a knee brace, connected to the main cryo tank driven by an electric pump.

Seven Wonders

Was cleaning my stitches with swabs when I decided to take this pic before I wrap my knee up again.

Reunion Long Overdue

On a recent visit to my aunt's place, by pure chance alone my mom met her long lost classmate of 60 years ago, who happened to be my aunt's neighbour. Needless to say, the reunion was quite emotional. I only had my E71 on me, and due to my position in the car, I had to use the ditgital zoom, and the picture is not in the best shape. Imagine that, will we still remember our primary school friends 60 years from now?

Time for Reading

Post ortho surgical convalescense time is often beset with immobility, or other limitations. In my case, its either my bed, tv room, or the patio, places i could reach on my crutches. I've often complained of lack of time to read, which is one of my favorite pasttimes. But now, well, its catching up time!

Knee Surgery

Alhamdulilah my anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery went well last Thursday, 19th February 2009. I made good progress and was discharged Saturday, 21st February 2009. They made 2 keyhole incisions just below the patella, and a 5cm main incision below the knee. In total they made 7 stitches. My right foot is blue black due to immobility for the first 3 days. The red welts behind my knee were due to the tight bandaging. I'm now on crutches, slowly trying to get back flexibility, before my first main physio later this week.

RTB Carnival

Decided to join my friends at the ICC today (15.2.2009) for the RTB Carnival. The place was full of visitors, and we had to park way way off. Never one to miss a photo opportunity, we made the best of it by taking loads of shots.

C'est Moi

I like to take photos, not the other way around. But this is one of those rare occasions when I let people take a shot at me. In this case my friend Redz who was experimenting with strobbing. I think he's on his way to a new career hehe...

30sec Shutter

If youre wondering what it looks like, this is it. This one was taken near Kiulap, on the night of the fireworks.

On Top of BSB

Its a long walk up this abandoned multistorey carpark, but once up there on the roof, its worth it. The view is fantastic. Just dont lean on the low railing, thats all. Its a LONG way down.

My sister's kitten

During a family lunch, I was outside my sister's house looking for something to shoot, when my sister's kitten was following me around seeking attention.

Amateur HDR

My first HDR. Not very original I know, but had to try with a basic -2,0,+2 combination first. I'm using PS CS2 to create the HDR 32 bit, then downgrade to 8 bit for this web photo. Interestingly the white point can be adjusted, else the lighted areas get burnt. The moon bled because I wasnt metering specifically for it.

Self Portrait

My Nephew

This is my nephew Akeem, too young to go to school yet. Doesnt look it, but of course, very naughty. And this is his mesmerised frozen pose. Funny!

The Power of L

My friend has just received his second L lens, the EF 24-105mm F4L. Its a beautiful lens, the build quality is superb, the handling great, makes a great walkabout lens. It came in my 5DmII kit, and suits it well. It also looks good on my friend's 40D. And of course, the L lens image quality speaks for itself. I borrowed by friend's EF 50mm F1.8 to take these shots. Its a bargain lens, but fun and versatile to use indoor.
